On show are nearly two hundred works by over sixty artists from Merseyside and beyond. The Exhibition is open to the public from the 14th to 30th August, 12am to 4pm - Tuesday to Saturday and will also be open, 12to 4pm, on the Sunday and Monday of the bank holiday weekend. The Exhibition was opened at the private view by popular Radio Merseyside presenter Billy Butler. Billy was not only a DJ at the Cavern in the sixties but also a member of one of the celebrated sixties bands - 'The Tuxedos'. Hence the four suits behind him to remind him of his past. You may remember Maria Saunderson's exhibition of a few year's ago entitled 'Brave Little Ferry Boats' about the Mersey' ferries and how they earned the right to use the title 'Royal' through their role at the battle of Zeebrugge. The story was illustrated by her in a series of embroideries which you can see at Brave Little Ferry Boats Maria has now created another children's book, this time based on the Beatles and called 'Once Upon a Liverpool' She has illustrated this with twelve embroideries some of which you can see at Once Upon A Liverpool As part of this ComeTogether exhibition we have all twelve of Maria's Beatle story embroideries on display and you can also purchase a copy of her book.
