42nd StreetThis year the Birkenhead Operatic Society are staging the musical 42nd Street" at the Liverpool Empire theatre. In partnership with them we have created an exhibition with artists from all over Merseyside and beyond to coincide with this. The exhibition includes painting and ceramics, on the theme of the 42nd Street and Art Deco. There was a competition for the best works with three prizes of £100, £75, and £50, sponsored by Queenie's charity and presented by Herbert of Liverpool at the private view. Below are images of the prize winning works and a selection of other works from the exhibition together with images of some of the period pieces also on display.
