Face, Figure and FolliesLen Ehlen was born in Widnes, Cheshire, and after a spell working in Spain he is now back in Cheshire continuing his painting. This exhibition is a reflection of his interests. The "Faces" are iconic portraits, the "Figures" show his interest in figurative painting, and the "Folly" is for those occasions when his mood changes and he moves away from portraiture and turns his attention to other subject matters. His work is colourful, highly individual and has been well received in our open exhibitions. We are pleased to welcome him to the Gallery as a solo artist. The Exhibition is open from 23rd September to 3rd October, 12 til 4pm, Monday to Friday. Below are images of some of the paintings, just click on the image to see them full size in our viewer:- FacesWhat Len excels at is portraits. Below are four samples from the exhibition. FiguresBelow are three of Len's fantasy figure studies and a figure study of Diana Ross. FolliesLen feels that whenever he chooses a subject which takes him away from the human form the results are never successful. Below are four of his 'follies' which we feel are very successful. | |
