| Dave Tolley and Steve Allo | ||
For our last exhibition for this year we have two artists - Steve Allo and Dave Tolley. Whilst this is the first time we have seem them at the LAA their partnership started many years ago when the two met at Art College and since then they have exhibited together in Canada, Jersey, Scotland, London and Israel. They see art as covering a multitude of functions:- simply decorative, or perhaps produced purely for the artist’s pleasure or out of a desire on the artist’s part to make a statement about his time and place or to capture some deeper metaphysical insight.
Between them they have a varied body of work that falls in all these categories and more. Tolley creates work varying from strikingly accurate and moody portraits to dreamy landscapes and sunsets all executed in a variety of styles. Allo’s work however changes from surrealist figures reminiscent of Picasso’s blue period to abstract metal sculptures burned and welded from found objects like barbeque bases and metal baths.
Don't miss this chance to see an unusual collection of new pieces and to possibly find a unique Christmas present.
The exhibition will open Monday to Friday between 12 and 4.00 pm from Tuesday 29th November until Friday 9th December. For details on how to get there see How to Find Us
