Yannick Boussemart

As many artists will certainly testify writing about your work is a contradiction. What the artist is doing visually is supposed to say it all. The audience requires a few clues however and the information provided below is just that for Yannick Boussemart.

Yannick was born in France and moved to Britain some years ago. He has an industrial and commercial back ground in art design which is reflected in his choice of primary colours for his works. In Britain he found a culture responsive to his nature, invigorating and stimulating him to create his own images.

The paintings are paths on a meditative journey that is at the core of Yannick’s desire to paint. Sometime there are objects that may reflect symbols and others contain a free expression of colour and movement. These symbols and objects are more reactions than planned, for Yannick painting becomes an attempt to make sense of life, his experiences and emotions in a meditational journey towards…what? The canvases are never finished and many contain evidence of reworking. Like a journey retracing wrong turns and seeking new paths - a continual adventure

The exhibition will open Monday to Friday between 12 and 4.00 pm from Tuesday 26th April until Friday 6th May. For details on how to get there see How to Find Us
