Frank Hendry's Liverpool |
||
Frank was born in Birkenhead but shortly after his birth his family moved to Liverpool where he has become a well known and revered character in the Liverpool art world, renown for his Liverpool scenes painted in his unique, easily recognised style.
His work has been exhibited along side a contemporary of his the sculptor Arthur Dooley at the House of Commons and in 1985 he staged a major one-man exhibition at the Building Design Partnership in Preston.
His European paintings were shown at the Static Gallery and you may remember his exhibition, here at The Liverpool Academy of Arts, on the Blitz, derived from his war time memories. He has also exhibited recently at the Bluecoat Chambers. During 1989 £18,000 was raised from the prints of Franks paintings for the Hillsborough Disaster Fund.
The exhibition will open Monday to Friday between 12 and 4.00 pm from Tuesday 14th until Friday 28th April. For details on how to get there see How to Find Us
