No Business Like Show Business |
|
The first event of the LAA 2002 calendar is an open exhibition giving artists the chance to show us their views on show business.
ShowBusiness in its various forms has always had a fascination for artists as shown in the paintings of Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Sickert etc. The director of the LAA, June Lornie, who was closely involved with show business for many years prior to taking over the LAA , felt that there is a lot of a scope for our Merseyside artists to really go to town, both literally and figuratively, with their imagination on theatres, costumes, circus's, songs from the shows, buskers etc. You can judge for yourself by visiting the exhibition, or looking at some of the samples below.
The show was opened by Liverpool comedian Ken Dodd.
The exhibition will open Monday to Friday between 12 and 4.00 pm from Tuesday 5th until Friday 22nd February. For details on how to get there see How to Find Us
