Just Trish & The Sculpture of Graham Jenkinson |
|
Twelve artists living in North Wales and members of the Denbighshire Art Society have met regularly over the last two years to draw and paint the female nude, throughout this period they used the same model known to them all as Trish. Hence the title of the exhibition.
That the subject is the same in all the works exhibited provides the visitor with an insight into the appeal of 'life drawing' and the endless variety of shapes and forms found in the subject. There is also a variety in the different methods used to depict the female form, the differing styles of the individual artists and their choice of size, colour, detail and attention to viewpoint. All of these elements combine to provide an endless kaleidoscope of shape, colour, pattern and form in an exhibition which pays tribute to both the skill of the artists and the beauty of the female form.
All this variety drew its inspiration from a single source "Just Trish"
Graham Jenkinson, from Huddersfield, has exhibited with us before you may remember his wry satirical metal figures created from recovered material
The exhibition will open Monday to Friday between 12 and 4.00 pm from Tuesday 10th until Friday 26th Ocober. For details on how to get there see How to Find Us
