The Paintings of Tom Rietdyk and the Sculpture of Graham Jenkinson |
||
This exhibition is one of contrast. The walls being taken up by the Tom's work - detailed pen and ink drawings of Liverpool buildings, his brilliant water colours which include a superb copy of the 'Mona Lisa'. The floor is taken up with the imaginative and humorous sculpture of Graham Jenkinson.
Tom Rietdyk is no stranger to our gallery although this is the first time he has had the gallery walls to himself. He has exhibited very successfully for several years at our Beatles Art Exhibitions at St George's Hall and regularly entered our open exhibitions. This exhibition will now give you a chance to see a broad selection of his work. Tom's main medium is watercolour. He has a precise style with an unerring eye for form and fine detail, this coupled with his use of a delicate palette and sharp line give his representational paintings an immediate appeal drawing admiration from both the public and his fellow artists.
Graham Jenkinson is a newcomer to our gallery travelling all the way from Huddersfield to exhibit with us. He initially contacted us through our web site to enquire about Arthur Dooley, after his own work had been compared to Arthur's early work, but soon expressed an interest in holding a exhibition of his own. His work is constructional using recovered materials, with a wry humorous twist, and those of you who came to our 3001 exhibition will have seen two of his futuristic sculptures there.
The exhibition will open Monday to Friday between 12 and 4.00 pm from Tuesday 24th April until Friday 4th May. For details on how to get there see How to Find Us
